Dawg and Steal Me Away [Poetry]
Dawg
A mountain range sits in place
Punters gaze
Estimate the width
It’s gauge
Triangulate it’s value
and weight
Taste
Lick the granite
It’s porous substrate
That binds
Metaphysical weight
In place
With glacial grace
Smooth lines
Carved in face
By biological
developmental
age
Rrrrrrr ruff, ruff
There’s that dog again…
Rrrrrr ruff, ruff
Mangy and mottled
Barking at mother nature’s cathedral
Minute opposition
To the division
In blessing
Between biological speck
Structurally unsound,
Malformed
Wreck
and Mountain
Glorious totality
Near divinity
Mongrel or not
Canine
Oppositional to big fucking rock
The yelps and barks
Resound
Resonate
Sound waves bounce
Magnify
In defiance of it’s tiny
Fragile
Ugly
State
Steal Me Away
Hypertrophic heart
Arrhythmic
Bipartite division
Bound, girdled
Strapped to my sternum
Leashed hopelessly
Pouncing earnestly
In search of salacious
Oiled, cumbersome strangle
In lieu of this all
Feather dusted home
The cardiologist has called
It’s time to return
Taciturn
To salted earth
Tributaries and pious life
I’ll reserve a framed portrait on the wall
Fractured glass
Powdered nose
My own Dorian Gray
